Cycling Camp

Mammoth Cycling Camp June 22-25, 2012

Cycle like a Professional

When you sign up for our Mammoth Cycling Camp, each day you’ll cycle distances ranging from 25 - 60 miles. You get to enjoy the support and encouragement of not only our staff, but others who are at your own fitness level. This allows you to connect and mentor each other as we’re guiding you professionally to better riding skill.
All rides include full vehicle support. This allows you the knowledge that you can push yourself as hard as you need to and you’ll never be on your own or stranded. This means that at any time, you can choose to cut the ride short or even add miles once the ride ends.

We follow your entire ride, providing basic bike maintenance, food storage, and a clothing caddy.  Each person receives a route map as well as turn by turn directions.

About the Camp

It is our goal to keep the camp simple. We want you to enjoy cycling in and around Mammoth Mountain. That’s why you signed up right? We don’t want you to be stuck inside listening to endless classroom discussions or stuck on a camp schedule that dictates your every move. Our camp allows you the freedom to enjoy the cycling, the encouragement and the support of a professional team. When you are done, then you get to enjoy all the beauty that Mammoth has to offer.

Who Should Come

Everyone is welcome. We do have some fitness guidelines below so that you can get the most out of your experience. Cyclists and triathletes looking for a wonderful place to ride and train will find this camp a real treat. We are excited to have all ability levels in our group.  This really allows you to take a few days out of your busy training regiment and treat yourself to a weekend getaway in a beautiful location with some fantastic people.

Your Fitness Level

In order to get the most out of the camp, riders should be in good physical condition and well prepared to ride a minimum of 25 miles a day. The more you are able to ride, the more benefit you will get out of this camp. We have a variety of abilities represented in our camp, so finding a pacing group won’t be difficult.

As part of the grouping process we will ask that you complete a few benchmark timed rides prior to arriving at the camp. This will help us gauge your average speed and make sure that all riders are accommodated.

Lodging/Meals

Lodging is not included in the camp price. It is up to you to decide where you would like to stay for the duration of the camp. There are a variety of lodging options ranging from basic to extravagant for both comfort and price. We are more than happy to suggest places to stay that are all within 1 mile of our starting location. Upon registration, we do supply you with a lodging guide to make your choice easier.

Note: Many condos in the area do not begin taking registration until late March.  Availability during the summer is usually wide open if you make reservations before June.

Food

In addition to a grocery store, there are a number of local eateries in the area. This also allows you to stay within your own comfort level for lifestyle, diet and budget. We also have a “join us for dinner” option that you may enjoy as well.

Other Activities

In addition to cycling there are plenty of other opportunities to be active and get the most out of your training. Many of the country's best distance runners come here to train. We can direct you to some great running trails and many of the camp participants will also venture out on afternoon trail runs.  Triathletes, there are also two junior Olympic size pools close by so that you can continue with your training and programs as you see fit.

Registration Costs: $270 by March 1st, $290 after March 1st
Registration will be available in 2 Phases
Phase 1: Registration opens February 7th for any 2012 online coached athlete, training plan athlete, or any athlete who attended last year’s camp
Phase 2: Registration opens February 22nd for any other athlete who has trained with our teammates in the past.
