When you sign up for the personal online coaching program from Fitness Coaching, you’ll have your wish. You will receive individual training with an exclusive design just for you.
We don’t believe in cookie cutter training. We know that each person is individual and has specific needs. Your training program should be the same way. As your personal coach, Joby will provide you with detailed workouts, referenced by a specific pace or intensity that you and he work on together.
We include a highly interactive online calendar with the specific details for each week’s workout with individual agendas for every day. No more guessing what you should be doing. We will work with you to modify your training based on your needs and the goals that you set for yourself.
Having a good rapport with your coach is essential to your success. Unlike other coaching programs, Joby does not limit interaction. We understand that you may have more questions at the beginning or as we progress through the program, so Joby does his best to be available to you to answer your needs or questions. Open communication between you and Joby will help him get to know you and your needs better. The better he knows you, the easier it will be to help you reach your goals. That’s why we provide unlimited email support and phone conversations.
First we’ll have you complete a background questionnaire that will let us understand your history better. We’ll also ask for a race history report. This covers specific details regarding past training, racing, athletic history as well as any recent injuries. (Note: If you are currently injured we will not be able to coach you. Please work with your doctor and get healthy first! Then give us a call!)
Second, we set a meeting to establish your goals for the year. If you are in the area, we’d love to have a personal one on one meeting with you so that we can assess your needs, learn more about what you like and what you don’t, and work through our shared goals for the program. If you aren’t in the area, don’t let that stop you! With today’s modern technology, we can meet with you via phone or internet and accomplish the same thing. We encourage you not to let anything stand in the way of your goals.
Now we begin the serious work on our end. This is where we plan out the season and set up the training calendar. We keep the calendar highly interactive and allow for the upload of a variety of training devices such as GPS data and heart rate data. There’s also space for you to keep track of your nutrition, sleeping habits and comments that you may have as we progress. The fantastic thing about this is that everything that you enter is immediately available to us so that we can regulate workouts, give encouragement or advice and mentor accordingly.
We keep our programs flexible and fluid. In the beginning, we won’t plan your training sessions for more than a few weeks in advance. This allows us to understand your body and your recovery tendencies. Some athletes take very little time to recover from extensive workouts. Others might take significantly longer. We understand this and we will adapt your program according to your individual needs. Once we understand how you work, we’ll begin to schedule your training in larger blocks of time.
We are excited to be part of your training and we’d love it if we could work with you 24/7. Unfortunately, most people have pretty hectic schedules and sometimes things can change with just a moment’s notice. That’s why we make sure that at any time during the training, your plan can be modified to allow for changes in your schedule.
Communication is the key to the entire process of personal training. We always keep an open line of communication and we want it to run both ways. This is essential for your success. The training calendar provides an opportunity to give us feedback about your workouts. In the event that you have a specific question or concern, then give us a call or email.
