How long are the runs? This will depend on what you are training for. Runs can range from 35 minutes up to 2 hours for those training for longer events. What do you mean I will have "access to training plans"?As a team member you will have an access code to a variety of training plans that can be downloaded from our site. All programs are periodized to produce optimal results. Do I have to follow one of your training plans? No, you are welcome to run any distance and follow your own training plan. Our plans are simply a resource for those who need it. I don’t want to commit to a race; I just want to join this group to stay in shape. Can I still join?Absolutely! The group accountability is a great way to stay motivated. I am new to running, would this group benefit me?Most definitely! You will have access to a training plan that is designed specifically for your ability level. If you are not running at all or you just started, there is a plan that will work with your current fitness level. What is the role of a coach? The program coach will be there as a resource to answer many of your training questions as well as to help you set goals. In addition to the Saturday runs, you will also have email access to the coach during the week. Will you have a team race? Each month we will designate one local race as our team race. This will range in distance from a 5k, 10k and up to a half marathon. These races are not mandatory but it would be a great opportunity to run with your teammates if you are ready for the distance. Do you meet any other days of the week? Our only scheduled runs take place on Saturday mornings. However, shorter runs take place throughout the week. Team members living in the same area usually meet together for midweek runs. Times and locations of these runs vary from week to week. |
