Ever wanted to know what your power output is over a certain period of time? How does this wattage correlate to heart rate? Using our power testing you will not only get your average power production (watts), but you will also know what your corresponding heart rate is. Once this data has been gathered, we will also teach you how to use this data to improve your performance on the bike. In addition, you’ll get a Spin Scan Analysis where your pedal stroke is examined for dead spots or imbalances.
Cost: $150
A ramp test involves cycling on a Compu Trainer, a bike ergometer that measures power output, heart rate and pedal efficiency and. As you ride, the intensity (wattage) is increased every 3-4 minutes. We will record the wattage production, duration of your effort, and heart rate. This test allows you to quantify your fitness so you can evaluate improvements over time. As your fitness improves, you will be able to ride longer and complete more stages of the ramp test, but your heart rate should decrease at each workload. This test can be repeated multiple times during a season to evaluate the effectiveness of your training.

I did not begin running until I was in my early 30’s so the thought of running a marathon seemed like a daunting task. Although I grew up playing sports, the arena of distance running was new to me so I hired Joby as my coach. My first marathon was the Surf City Marathon and I completed it in a time of 3:49:18. I know it’s not elite status by any means, but I am really happy to have gone under 4 hours for my first marathon with only a year of training under my belt. In the process I also improved my 10K time from58:00 to 42:39. Joby’s encouraging words and down to earth personality made the coach to athlete relationship a good fit. Weekly communication kept me motivated and on track. I could not have done this without the guidance and support of my coach. Thanks Joby!
